FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the metallurgical industry and can be used for stabilising disintegrating metallurgical slags. The composition includes a stabilising component - granular dust from gas cleaning of electric arc steel-making furnaces with a content of iron oxides Fe2O3 of at least 45%, in an amount of 2 to 5% of the mass of the processed slag. During implementation of the method, the stabilising component is granulated on a disk granulator to a size of granules of no more than 20 mm, introduced onto the surface of the molten slag and into the stream while draining the metallurgical slag from the electric arc steel-making furnace into a slag pot in several stages in form of granules or bags filled with granules.

EFFECT: degree of stabilisation and structural stability of the metallurgical slag are increased due to complete and uniform assimilation of the stabilising component by the entire volume of the slag.
