FIELD: measuring technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for magnetic-rheological control of the magnetic susceptibility of the particle. The essence of the invention consists in visualizing the vertical sedimentation of the studied particle in a column of liquid whose density is ρ and the dynamic viscosity is η, and determining the time t of the fixed movement h of the particle under the action of a number of forces, such as gravity force Fg, Archimedes’ force FA, Stokes’ force FS, while the column of liquid with the particle being moved in it is affected by the created inhomogeneous magnetic field, thereby causing an additional effect of the magnetic force Fm on it, and the created field ensures the action of this force in the vertical direction corresponding to the above mentioned forces’ direction, in addition, the created field, characterized by the strength parameter H and the gradient parameter gradH, or the strength parameter B and the gradient parameter gradB, the product of which is the magnetic force factor HgradH or BgradB, ensures the stability of this factor within a fixed particle displacement, which makes it possible to determine the magnetic susceptibility of the particle, based on the condition of the balance of all forces, namely Fg, FA, FS and Fm, affecting the particle.
EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities, which consists in providing the ability to control the magnetic susceptibility of a single (separate), small-sized particle.
