FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for creation and control of non-uniform magnetic field. Device for creating and diagnosing a zone of stable non-uniformity of magnetic field, in which magnetization winding is made with diameter not exceeding diameter of pole tips, is equipped with stops arranged in interpolar region, identifying inner xint and external xext radial boundaries of zone of practically stable gradient, spaced from axial line of pole tips, respectively, at distance xint =xextr-Δx/2 and xext=xextr+Δx/2, and in case of preferred positioning of limiters relative to generatrix of cylindrical outer surface of pole tips said boundaries are spaced from said generatrix respectively at distance Xint =(D/2)-xextr+(Δx/2) and Xext=(D/2)-xextr-(Δx/2), where Δx is the size of the zone of the virtually stable gradient, namely the size within which the differences between the current gradient indices and the average value do not exceed the accepted tolerable values.
EFFECT: improved functional capabilities of the device, efficiency and efficiency of device tuning operations.
