FIELD: magnetic measurements.

SUBSTANCE: magnetometer is designed to determine the magnetic susceptibility of individual particles. The magnetometer for implementing the express method of magnetic rheological diagnostics of the magnetic properties of a particle contains an electromagnetic system with spherical pole tips to create an inhomogeneous magnetic field between them and ensure a limited working area of stable inhomogeneity, as well as a vessel with liquid in the interpolar area for vertical sedimentation of a magnetically active particle under the influence of a number of forces, including magnetic. The magnetometer is configured to measure the passage time of a particle within the working area upon entry into it and the fact of exit from it of the particle for subsequent determination of its magnetic susceptibility based on the condition of balance of all forces acting on the particle. It is equipped with indication sensors in the form of photodiodes for registering the fact of entry of a particle into the working area and the subsequent fact of the exit of a particle from this area, light sources located on the opposite side of the vessel with liquid, for illuminating the light beams of photodiodes. It is also equipped with a block for digital information processing and its display, configured to receive signals from photodiodes and display the measured data of the time the particle passes through the working area and the determined data of the magnetic susceptibility of the particle.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurements (diagnostics), with the possibility of prompt measurements due to their automation and digitalization.
