SUBSTANCE: pneumatic spray device for spraying a coating material contains pneumatic sprayer (8) and supply line (14) for powering the pneumatic sprayer from a source of pressurized coating material, to which the supply line is connected by an upstream end. The pneumatic sprayer contains sprayer case (82) and a control valve for regulating the flow of the coating material supplied towards zone (Z8) of spraying this coating material. The control valve contains needle (96) for selective closing outlet (982) of internal volume (V82) of the sprayer case; and the spray device determines channel (C) of the flow of the coating material from the upstream end of supply line (14) to outlet (982) of internal volume (82). Choke (120) for limiting the flow of the coating material is installed in the flow channel of the coating material to ensure a pressure drop upstream from outlet (982).
