FIELD: stop valve devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to stop valve devices; it is designed for opening and closing the fluid flow in a pipeline. The device contains a case and a stop element, a linear stepper striction electric engine consisting of a runner located in a channel of the case. The runner is connected to the stop element. The runner consists of a front striction spacer section, a running striction section, and a rear striction spacer section connected in series. The running striction section increases its length when it is connected to an electric voltage source, causing longitudinal vibration. The front and rear striction spacer sections are braked in the channel of the case when they are connected to an electric voltage source, causing transverse vibrations. With a certain sequence of connections and disconnections of sections, the runner moves the stop element in the required direction, opening or closing the gate valve.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing the force required for the drive operation and the probability of jamming the stop element in the gate valve case.
