SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is proposed, including a device for cleaning the oral cavity, made with the possibility to determine the user’s compliance with the instructions of a controlled cleaning session, and a method for determining the user’s compliance with the instructions of a controlled cleaning session while using a device for cleaning the oral cavity. The device contains: a sensor made with the possibility to generate sensor data at the first location during a controlled cleaning session, wherein the sensor data indicates the location or movement of the device for cleaning the oral cavity; an instruction generator made with the possibility to provide the user with a controlled cleaning session containing multiple instructions; and a controller. The controller is made with the possibility to compare the generated sensor data with the expected sensor data for the specified first location, generate, based on the specified comparison, an assessment of the user’s compliance with the instructions of the controlled cleaning session, and assess the reliability of the generated sensor data based on the assessment of the user’s compliance with the instructions of the controlled cleaning session.

EFFECT: as a result, proper tooth cleaning is ensured by user’s compliance with the instructions of the controlled cleaning session, which can decide whether to use certain localizations based on certain compliance.
