FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for surface plastic deformation of the outer cylindrical surfaces of machine parts. Rotary motion about its own longitudinal axis is imparted to the workpiece. The tool, which exerts pressure on the surface of the workpiece to be processed, is reported to have a longitudinal feed parallel to the workpiece axis and an oscillatory movement in a direction perpendicular to the workpiece axis. The deforming element of the said tool are two flat half-rings with a parting plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece, located on the end surface of a spring-loaded disk with a working surface of the rounding. The disc is pivotally connected to one side of the rocker arm, which rests on the articulated fixed support and oscillates at an angle greater than zero and less than 90 degrees.
EFFECT: increased stress state in the deformation zone of the workpiece.
