SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a film-forming liquid for forming an insulating coating on a sheet of anisotropic electrical steel, to a method for manufacturing a sheet of anisotropic electrical steel and to a sheet of anisotropic electrical steel. The film-forming liquid comprises a solvent and at least one of powders of a layered clay mineral with a specific surface area of 20 m²/g or more, wherein said liquid does not contain a binding agent. The sheet of anisotropic electrical steel is comprised of a base metal and an insulating coating provided on the surface of the base metal and made of a film-forming liquid containing no binding agents, wherein the insulating coating comprises SiO₂ and at least one of Al₂O₃ and MgO and has a porosity of 10% or less.

EFFECT: provided is sheet of anisotropic electrical steel exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance while containing no chromium compound or containing such compound in a reduced used amount, and having excellent magnetic losses.
