SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coreless reel of an absorbent sheet product, a method for manufacture of such reel and an application thereof as toilet paper, a household towel, a kitchen towel, a wet towel, a facial tissue, a handkerchief or a napkin. The coreless reel of an absorbent sheet product is produced from a spirally wound continuous sheet of absorbent material with a first end and a second end. The web of the absorbent material is wound so as to form an axial hollow channel located centrally relative to the coreless reel and extending from one end to the other end of the coreless reel and so that the first end is located on the outside of the reel and the second end is located on the axial hollow channel. The second end of the continuous web of the absorbent material comprises a composite coating containing: (a) a polymer with: (i) a glass transition temperature below 10°C; (ii) a melting point above 30°C; (iii) optionally, solubility in water at 25°C of no less than 40 g/l; and (b) a binding agent selected from polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), poly(vinyl pyrrolidone-co-vinyl acetate) (PVP-PVAc), and combinations thereof. The weight ratio of the polymer to the binding agent is no less than 92:8, preferably no less than 96:4. The polymer constitutes a polyether polyol selected from polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol and mixtures thereof.

EFFECT: production of a coreless reel exhibiting excellent crush resistance, flexibility and elasticity with excellent degradability in water and usable along the entire length thereof.
