FIELD: electronic transactions.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and system for confirming transactions using a randomly generated graphical key. In the method, a unique symmetric key is obtained on at least one user device and the server; a user request for an online transaction is generated; the received request is processed on the server, while during this processing, a transaction confirmation session is created on at least one user device; an initiating message is generated on the server; transmit the said initiating message during the said transaction confirmation session to the user’s device; in response to the received initiating message, a one-time symmetric key is generated on the user’s device and the server based on the said symmetric unique key; a random graphic key is generated on the user’s device and the server in the form of a graphic image based on the generated one-time symmetric key; user input of the generated graphic key is recognized in the transaction confirmation session; a comparison is performed on the server of the entered graphic key on the user’s device with the key formed on the basis of a one-time key; and transaction confirmation based on the results of the comparison of graphic keys is performed.
