SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. A double-pole bidirectional DC converter, as well as a method and device for controlling it. A double-pole bidirectional DC converter includes at least two chains of valve blocks (101 and 102) and at least six magnetic elements (103), while they are divided into a chain of type I valve blocks (102) and a chain of type II valve blocks (101) in accordance with the connection relations of the chains of valve blocks (101 and 102) and the port on the low voltage side of the bidirectional DC converter; the positive pole of the low-voltage DC port of the type I valve block chain (102) forms the positive pole of the port on the low-voltage side of the double-pole bidirectional DC converter; the positive pole of the low-voltage DC port of the type II valve block chain (101) is connected to the negative pole of the low-voltage DC port of the type I valve block chain (102), forming the neutral point of the port on the low-voltage side of the double-pole bidirectional DC converter, and the negative pole of the low-voltage DC port of the type II valve block chain (101) forms the negative pole of the port on the low-voltage side of the double-pole bidirectional DC converter; each chain of valve blocks (101 and 102) has one high-voltage DC port, one low-voltage DC port and at least three AC ports, while each AC port is connected to one magnetic element (103); the other terminals of magnetic elements (103) connected to all AC ports in the same chain of valve blocks (101 and 102) are connected to each other.
