FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: system for controlled modulation of light emission in the infrared and ultraviolet range by means of a gas-discharge tube is intended for therapeutic effect provided by deactivation of pathogenic microorganisms. The system includes a gas-discharge tube with power lines connected to the anode and cathode terminals, a high voltage generation and detection unit with sensors for registering the voltage, current and resistance, a microcontroller for generating and monitoring modulating signals based on the data received from the sensors of the high voltage generation and detection unit, as well as a computer apparatus. The high voltage generation unit is connected with the gas-discharge tube and the microcontroller connected to the computer apparatus. The computer apparatus has access to a database containing a spectrum of natural oscillation frequencies of pathogenic microorganisms. The frequency of the modulating signals corresponds to the spectrum of natural oscillation frequencies of pathogenic microorganisms.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency and safety of impact is achieved due to the pulsed quality and frequency modulation of irradiation, the parameters whereof depend on the data received from the sensors and the preset frequencies corresponding to the frequencies whereat the vital function of the pathogenic microorganisms is suppressed, as well as the application of a safe range of emission in the infrared and ultraviolet light wave spectra.
