FIELD: processing of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for processing radioactive waste stored in a container by means of pyrolysis performed in a reaction chamber. The container is divided into at least two container parts. The parts of the container are introduced into the reaction chamber wherein an atmosphere containing water vapour with a temperature of T≥200°C is set. Pyrolysis is performed, gases (waste gas) are discharged from the reaction chamber, and receiving elements are removed from the reaction chamber. Additionally, at least one stage of the method is performed from the group: introducing oxygen and/or CO2, adjusting the water vapour introduced into the reaction chamber, adjusting the oxygen and/or CO2 introduced into the reaction chamber, deactivating pyrolysis depending on the oxidising substance in the waste gas, introducing water vapour and/or oxygen and/or CO2 into the radioactive waste, directing water vapour and/or oxygen and/or CO2 inside the reaction chamber.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows improving efficiency of pyrolysis.
