FIELD: smoking devices.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a cartridge assembly for use in an aerosol generating system and to an aerosol generating system. The cartridge assembly for use in the aerosol generating system contains a mouthpiece case having an end located ahead along flow and an end located further along flow, while the mouthpiece case forms a mouthpiece cavity passing between the end of the mouthpiece case located ahead along flow and the end of the mouthpiece case located further along flow, a locking element fixed in the mouthpiece cavity and containing an end located ahead along flow and an end located further along flow, and a cartridge, located at the end of the mouthpiece case located ahead along flow. The cartridge contains an end located ahead along flow and an end located further along flow, the first compartment having the first air inlet at the end of the cartridge located ahead along flow and the first air outlet at the end of the cartridge located further along flow and the second compartment having the second air inlet at the end of the cartridge located ahead along flow and the second air outlet at the end of the cartridge located further along flow. The end of the cartridge located further along flow is adjacent to the end of the locking element located ahead along flow. The cartridge is made with the possibility of rotation relatively to the locking element from the first position to the second position. The locking element has such a shape that the end of the locking element located ahead along flow locks the first air outlet and the second air outlet, when the cartridge is in the first position, and the first air outlet and the second air outlet both communicate through fluid with the mouthpiece cavity, when the cartridge is in the second position.
EFFECT: technical result is providing the cartridge assembly for use in the aerosol generating system, in which one or more volatile compounds are retained during storage, and which minimizes the need for removable or brittle partitions.
