FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, namely to an aerosol generating system. The aerosol generating system contains cartridges, wherein at least one cartridge contains substrate that forms the aerosol. Cartridges are made with the possibility of selective connecting to each other to form a cartridge assembly containing one or more cartridges. The system contains an aerosol generating device, including a liquid storage section containing liquid substrate forming the aerosol located in the liquid storage section, an electric heater made with the possibility of heating the substrate forming aerosol from the liquid storage section during the use of the aerosol generating system. The aerosol generating device also contains a section of power supply unit containing a power supply unit and a controller for controlling the power supply from the power supply unit to the electric heater. The aerosol generating device is made with the possibility of placing the cartridge assembly at the end of the aerosol generating device located further along the flow.

EFFECT: simplifying the design of the aerosol generating system due to the modular assembly of aerosol forming cartridges.
