FIELD: thermophysical measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermophysical measurements and is intended for conductometry: measuring the thermal conductivity of solids by comparing them with a measure of thermal conductivity. The claimed method can be used in the state verification scheme of measuring instruments for the thermal conductivity of solids. Essence: a flat sample under study is made with a shape and dimensions identical to a flat reference sample. The test and reference samples are placed on a flat, cooled base from its two opposite sides. Heating elements are installed on the external planes of the test and reference samples and they are insulated from the environment. The corresponding electric power is supplied and adjusted to the heating elements so that the same set stationary temperature drop is established on the test and reference samples according to their thickness. The stationary temperature drop over the thickness of the samples and the values of electrical capacities are measured. The ratio of the electric power of the heating element connected to the test sample to the power of the heating element connected to the reference sample is found. The found of the electric power is multiplied by the thermal conductivity of the reference sample. The resulting value is assumed to be equal to the thermal conductivity of the test sample.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measuring the thermal conductivity of solids.
