AUTOMATIC LOCATION OF THE FOCAL SOURCE IN ATRIAL FIBRILLATION (AF) Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/318 A61B5/339 A61B5/346 A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2755381 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a method for automatic location of focal arrhythmogenic activity and a system for implementation thereof. The observation data containing a set of electrophysiological (EP) signals measured by the electrodes is therein received by means of electrodes in the heart. For each observation data, the corresponding direction of arrival (DOA) and the corresponding distance relative to the electrodes emitting the set of EP signals are estimated. The observation data is aggregated forming a statistical distribution as a function of the calculated DOA and the distance. A statistical test is used to confirm whether the statistical distribution is consistent in accordance with a predetermined consistency criterion. Based on the statistical distribution, the calculated location in the heart of the focal source of arrhythmogenic activity generating the received EP signals is obtained when the statistical distribution of the observation data is confirmed to be consistent. The calculated location of the focal source is superimposed on the anatomical map of the heart. The user is notified that the location of the focal arrhythmogenic activity has not been identified when the statistical distribution of the observation data is confirmed to be contradictory.

EFFECT: clinical outcome of catheter-based arrhythmia treatment is improved due to the reduction of error and the increase in the accuracy of estimation of the DOA.
