ITERATIVE COHERENT MAPPING OF ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVATION OF HEART, INCLUDING SCAR EFFECTS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/283 A61B5/343 A61B5/349 A61B5/363

Abstract RU 2772201 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a method and a system for iterative coherent mapping of electrophysiological activation of the heart. In this case, an input grid representation of the cardiac chamber, a set of measured locations on the wall tissue of the cardiac chamber and a corresponding set of local activation time (hereinafter – LAT) values measured at these locations are received. The input grid is rearranged into a regular grid containing polygons of a regular shape. Data of the set of measured locations and corresponding LAT is coordinated with polygons of a regular shape. Iterative calculation is carried out for polygons of a regular shape of (i) corresponding LAT values and (ii) corresponding probabilities of scar tissue content in the wall tissue so that to obtain an activation electrophysiological (hereinafter – EF) wave on the regular grid, indicating scar tissue. A representation of an electroanatomic map containing the activation EF wave and scar tissue superimposed on the regular grid is provided. Binary marking of measured locations is carried out to indicate the presence of a scar and/or the presence of a double EF potential.

EFFECT: simplified and reliable mapping and interpretation of complex arrhythmias is achieved with an increase in the efficiency of subsequent invasive heart treatment, such as catheter ablation, by taking into account repeated wave inputs, which allows eliminating the resulting re-entry artifacts on the EF map.
