FIELD: wood processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of wood processing, in particular to drying and preparation of lumber surfaces for coating with protective compounds. Wood is cyclically exposed to microwave and ultraviolet radiation. In this case, in each cycle, microwave treatment is carried out for 5-8 minutes in the frequency range 2-3 GHz with an interval between each microwave exposure from 5 to 15 minutes, during which the wood surface is processed from different sides by exposure to ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 100-320 nm.
EFFECT: strength properties of the material are improved, the wettability of the surface of the prepared sawn timber is improved, the protection of wood from damage by wood-staining fungi and the restoration of wood affected by coniophoraceae fungi are ensured.
