FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering and can be used for adaptive selection of the signal modulation type and coding speed in a radio line based on the results of measuring the current value of the ratio of signal power to noise power in the signal reception band (SNR). The essence of the claimed solution is that a decision is made on the choice of the type of modulation, taking into account the provision of the maximum transmission speed in a given frequency band. After that, the SNR value is calculated in a given frequency band and the encoding rate is selected for the calculated SNR value. Information about the selected type of modulation and the encoding speed is transmitted to the transmitting side of the radio line. At the same time, the procedures for choosing the type of modulation and the encoding speed in the radio line are periodically repeated during the communication session.
EFFECT: ensuring a minimum bit error in the channel on the receiving side of the radio line, due to the fact that it is necessary to periodically ensure the coordination of the type of signal modulation and the encoding speed, depending on the value of the SNR in the channel on the receiving side of the radio line.
