FIELD: petroleum industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the petrochemical industry. Described is a washing and desalinating apparatus containing: a first shell containing a first receiving cavity and equipped with a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet communicating with the first receiving cavity, and threads provided in the first receiving cavity, wherein the direction along the length of each of the threads corresponds to the direction along the length of the first receiving cavity, wherein the filling density of the threads is 1 to 9%. Described is a method for washing and desalination of a mixture of petroleum and water using the above apparatus, including providing passage of the mixture of petroleum and water over the surfaces of the threads so that the petroleum phase and the water phase are stretched into films on the surfaces of the threads, wherein the time of retention of the mixture of petroleum and water on the threads is 0.5 to 5 minutes. Described are water desalination systems involving the use of the above apparatus.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of desalination.
