SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure and can be used for the manufacture of bimetallic layered steel. A method for producing a layered steel-aluminum alloy bimetal includes preliminary machining of raw contacting surfaces of sheet blanks of steel and aluminum alloy with the formation of a relief on them with a given profile in the transverse direction to the rolling axis, assembly of a package consisting of sheet blanks formed on their contact surfaces relief, joint rolling of the package in one pass with a reduction of 65-80% and heat treatment. Preliminary machining of raw workpiece surfaces in contact with each other is carried out with the formation of a trapezoidal relief applied in the transverse direction to the rolling axis with a trapezoidal protrusion height of 20-70 mcm and with angles at the base of the trapezoidal relief α=40-55°. The assembly of the package is carried out by ensuring that the trapezoidal projections of one contacting surface enter the trapezoidal depressions of the other contacting surface.

EFFECT: invention increases strength while maintaining the plastic properties of laminated bimetallic rolled products.
