FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a method for selection of strawberry genotypes for anthocyanin content using molecular markers, consisting in PCR amplification of DNA isolated from the analyzed sample using a set of four pairs of primers for microsatellite (SSR) markers developed based on sequences of structural and regulatory genes for flavonoid biosynthesis, identification of the size of PCR amplicons and identification of strawberry genotypes containing a set of PCR amplicons characteristic of varieties with high and low content of anthocyanins.
EFFECT: claimed method allows one to accelerate the selection of strawberry to improve the quality of berries using DNA technologies.
