FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition of edible paint, which can be applied by printing on various surfaces of food products. The composition of edible paint contains scalenohedral particles of calcium carbonate, a solvent and a binder, where the solvent is one or more alcohols C2-C6 selected from a group consisting of isopropanol, 1-propanol, ethanol, 1-butanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol (isoamyl alcohol), 2-butanol, hexanol and combinations thereof. At the same time, calcium carbonate particles are present in amount from 15% to 35% by weight. A food product containing the above-mentioned composition of edible paint is proposed, in particular a candy with hard knurling containing glossy coating and the above-mentioned composition of edible paint. A method for applying the composition of edible paint by printing on the food product contains following stages: providing the surface of the food product; bringing the composition of edible paint containing scalenohedral particles of calcium carbonate, the solvent and the binder into contact with the surface of the food product; transferring the composition of edible paint to the surface of the food product; and drying the composition of edible paint.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain the composition of edible paint that provides the required whiteness and opacity when applied to various food products.
