SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining a crystalline form of calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate, where crystals belong to a spatial group P21/n, and parameters of a crystal lattice at 22°C are a=15.1916(2) Å, b=8.9121(1) Å, c=7.4724(1) Å, beta=103.309(1)°, including following stages: a) obtaining acid calcium maleate by incomplete neutralization of maleic acid with the first portion of a calcium compound, wherein the calcium compound is fed as a suspension in water; b) epoxidation of acid calcium maleate with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an epoxidation catalyst to obtain acid calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate; c) neutralization of acid calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate by adding the second portion of the calcium compound, where the calcium compound is fed as a suspension in water; d) aging of calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate for 24 to 240 h to obtain crystalline calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining a crystalline form of calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate, indicated above, including an additional stage of adding a seed.
EFFECT: aim of the invention is that a new method is developed for producing a crystalline form of calcium cis-2,3-epoxysuccinate, which can be raw material for producing high-purity L-(+)-tartaric acid and polycarboxylate.
