FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the production of paper, plastics, paints, food products, pharmaceutical products. Method of preparing an aqueous suspension comprises preparation of a mineral pigment material and depolymerised carboxymethylcellulose having a degree of carboxylation in the range of 0.2 to 2.2, a molecular weight in the range of from 5,000 to 40,000 g/mol and a polydispersity index in the range of from 2 to 10. Depolymerised carboxymethylcellulose, mineral pigment material and water are mixed. Mineral pigment material is added in an amount of 10 to 80 % by weight with respect to the total weight of the suspension. Depolymerised carboxymethyl cellulose is added in an amount of 0.05 to 5.0 % by weight with respect to the total weight of the mineral pigment material in the suspension. Brookfield viscosity of the aqueous suspension ranges from 40 to 2,000 mPa⋅s at 20 °C. Depolymerised carboxymethylcellulose is prepared by depolymerising high molecular weight carboxymethylcellulose.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain aqueous suspensions with a high solids content with content of dispersing or grinding-promoting substances in only small amounts, and to exclude energy-intensive stages of concentration.
