SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to the use of a composition containing bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus or a mixture of such bacteria and one or several prebiotics and/or fibers for increasing muscular weight in a mammal. The use of the composition containing bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus or the mixture of such bacteria and one or several prebiotics and/or fibers for increasing muscular weight in a mammal is proposed, where bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus is Bifidobacterium animalis bifidobacterium of lactis subspecies of 420 (B420) strain, and the specified bacterium is injected in a dose from 108 to 1012 KOE microorganism/dose, and where fibers and/or prebiotics are polydextrose. A method for increasing muscular weight is proposed, including the injection to a mammal of the composition containing bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus or the mixture of such bacteria and one or several prebiotics and/or fibers, where muscular weight in a mammal is increased due to the injection of the composition. The use of the composition containing bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus or the mixture of such bacteria and one or several prebiotics and/or fibers in the production of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition for increasing muscular weight is proposed. The use of a food product or biologically active additive containing bacterium of Bifidobacterium genus or the mixture of such bacteria and one or several prebiotics and/or fibers for increasing muscular weight is proposed.
EFFECT: above-described use and method are effective for increasing muscular weight.
