FIELD: electromagnetic research.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electromagnetic research. A device for detecting and tracking a metal-containing extended underwater object from the UUV contains two electromagnetic field emitters, each of which is made in the form of two exciting current electrodes installed in the bow and aft parts of the UUV, two electromagnetic field receivers in the form of four receiving electrodes. The device also contains a control and signal conversion unit (CSCU), compensation unit, controlled attenuator, current measuring transducer and controlled signal normalizer unit. A controllable attenuator and a measuring current transducer connected in series are included in the disconnection between the output of the alternating voltage generator and the input of the first switch. The signal normalizer unit is connected between the outputs of the receiving electrodes and through the second switch with an input (CSCU). The device has a second controllable attenuator connected between the output of the compensation unit and the input of the analog-to-digital converter. The control to the first and second attenuators, as well as to the signal normalizer, comes from separate outputs of the CSCU.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability, reliability of detection, as well as the accuracy of tracking an extended underwater metal-containing object using an UUV.
