FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electromagnetic research. Essence: device for detecting and tracing a metal-containing extended underwater object from the side of an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle (AUUV) contains two emitters of an electromagnetic field, each of which is made in the form of two exciting current electrodes installed in the fore and aft parts of the AUUV, two receivers of the electromagnetic field in the form of four receiving electrodes. Two electric dipoles of the exciting electrodes are turned in different directions relative to the longitudinal vertical axial plane of the AUUV by the same angle. Electric dipoles of the receiving electrodes are turned in different directions relative to the transverse vertical axis of the AUUV. Moreover, the electrodes of the receiving dipoles are mounted on the AUUV in places where the potential of the electromagnetic field emitted by the corresponding electric dipole is close to the zero value. In addition, the device includes a controllable attenuator, a current measuring transducer, and a controllable signal normalizer. Series-connected controllable attenuator and current transducer are included in the disconnection between the output of the alternating voltage generator and the input of the first switch. Inputs of the signal normalizer unit are connected to the receiving electrodes, and its outputs through the second switch are connected to the first input of the control and signal conversion unit.
EFFECT: increased reliability, reliability of detection and accuracy of tracking an extended underwater metal containing object with the help of AUUV.
