A method for the voltammetric determination of 2,4-dinitrophenol in water and water bodies, including preliminary modifying electrochemical treatment of a glass-carbon indicator electrode of a three-electrode system, measuring the concentration of 2,4-dinitrophenol in water, including electrochemical deposition of 2,4-dinitrophenol on the modified surface of the indicator electrode from the analyzed water, subsequent electrooxidation of 2,4-dinitrophenol when the potential of the indicator electrode changes, registration of an analytical signal on the voltamper curve, identification of the peak 2,4-the determination of the concentration of 2,4-dinitrophenol by the peak value of 2,4-dinitrophenol, characterized by the fact that the preliminary modifying electrochemical treatment of the indicator electrode is carried out in an aqueous solution of 0.1 M potassium hydroxide with the addition of acetone in a volume ratio of 19:1, respectively, a standard phenol solution is added to the analyzed solution at a concentration ratio of 2,4-dinitrophenol : phenol is 1:1.

EFFECT: determination of 2,4-dinitrophenol at the MAC level in water and water bodies, as well as the simplification of sample preparation.
