FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: determination of palladium (II) in an analysed solution of a nitrite complex involves a step for its electrochemical reduction on a carbon-containing electrode and then electrochemical stripping of the reduced platinum while plotting the current-voltage curve. Concentration of platinum (II) in the nitrite solution is determined from the value of the anodic peak of electrochemical stripping of preliminarily reduced platinum. The background electrolyte used is 1M KNO3 or 1M H2SO4. Electrochemical stripping of the reduced platinum is carried out while varying potential of the working carbon-containing electrode at a rate of 50 mV/s and the current-voltage curve is plotted. For a carbon-containing electrode, the range of the determined concentration of platinum (II) is: on a 1M KNO3 background 0.1-2.0 mg/l, 1M H2SO4 - 0.01-1.00 mg/l. The analytical signal for determining platinum is the height of the anodic peak of its electrochemical stripping on the current-voltage curve in the potential region from 0.10 V to 0.45 V.
EFFECT: invention enables to determine concentration of platinum directly in a nitrite medium without sample preparation.
