FIELD: medical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology, namely to hyperthermia of malignant neoplasms. Conformal microwave phased-array antenna applicator for hyperthermia and simultaneous (through them) radiation therapy includes a set of single applicators combined into larger matrices with power and phase control of each single module to control the radiating electromagnetic field. Selected on the phased-array antenna applicator, individually for each patient, arrays of microstrip single applicator structures (single modules) are made on a single dielectric substrate and placed in a body of a silicone water cooling system in contact with the surface of the skin. To obtain high homogeneity or the required geometry of the total radiated field, it is necessary to control the electromagnetic fields of single structures. For this, changes are made in the amplitude-phase ratios of the radiating waves, which form the near-field radiation.
EFFECT: hyperthermia of malignant neoplasms treatment improvement.
