FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a thoric ophthalmic lens for the correction of astigmatism. The thoric ophthalmic lens is proposed, in which, in the view from above of the optical section, an essentially flat section having an essentially constant thickness of the edge of the optical section is provided without combining with the flat meridian of the thoric surface of the optical section and is provided in combination with the steep meridian of the thoric surface, and additionally an intersection line is formed on the border between the thoric surface and the essentially flat section.
EFFECT: technical result is the production of a thoric ophthalmic lens, which makes it possible to design a lens that helps prevent secondary cataract, without compromising the degree of freedom of the lens design.
