FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for measuring an effective value of alternating electric current. An ammeter contains a case made in the form of an electrical outlet with a socket for receiving an electric plug. A current measuring transformer is installed in the case, an output of which is connected to an input of a microcontroller through a load resistor. The microcontroller is made with the possibilities of registering values of measured current with a frequency of at least 2000 Hz, periodically calculating a mean-square value of a sequence of voltage values on the load resistor with its conversion into a digital signal and forming a digital data package. The microcontroller is connected to a transceiver unit. The case is equipped with a radio frequency identification tag and a connector for connecting to the Internet.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measuring values of consumed alternating current of industrial frequency.
