FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: modular electrode system for three-dimensional electrical impedance tomography consists of modules, a module carrier and a connecting cable with connectors for connecting each module to an electronic data collection and control unit. In each module, recesses are made at a given distance relatively to each other, in which electrodes are installed in the same cross-sectional plane. The carrier is made with holes located along its median longitudinal line and is equipped with a fastener. The electrode system is formed from modules identical to each other, each of which contains a group of electrodes located in sections located in different planes. Each module is fixed on the carrier made of longitudinally elastic material common to all modules and is made in the form of a plate made of biologically neutral material that does not stretch and deform. All electrodes are located in recesses of the plate at a minimum equidistant distance relatively to each other, both in the same cross-sectional plane and in sections located in different planes.
EFFECT: improving the quality of visualized three-dimensional images of the studied area of the surface of the biological object is achieved by reducing the level of artifacts on the results of reconstruction of the field of change in the conductivity of biological tissue for the case of three-dimensional electrical impedance tomography by ensuring equidistance not only between electrodes located in the same cross-sectional plane, but also between electrodes located in several different cross-sectional planes.
