SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely, to a catheter system for inserting and positioning a dual-lumen catheter, in particular, a dialysis catheter, in a blood vessel and to a method for inserting and positioning said catheter. The catheter system for inserting and positioning a dual-lumen dialysis catheter in a blood vessel comprises a dual-lumen catheter with a distal catheter tip, first lumen and second lumen, a first mandrel passing through the first lumen, and a second mandrel passing through the second lumen. The second lumen comprises a distal hole and one lateral hole in the proximal direction. Both mandrels of the catheter are made radiopaque. The catheter for insertion into a blood vessel is designed so that the distal end of the second mandrel is located in the proximal direction at the proximal end of the most proximal lateral hole and at a distance in the proximal direction from the distal tip of the catheter, wherein the distance between the distal tip of the catheter and the distal end of the second mandrel corresponds to the functional section of the tip of the catheter. The method for inserting and positioning a dual-lumen dialysis catheter in a blood vessel, wherein the above dual-lumen catheter is used, consists in the fact that the catheter is inserted into the blood vessel so that the distal end of the second mandrel is located in the proximal direction at the proximal end of the most proximal lateral hole and at a distance in the proximal direction from the distal tip of the catheter, wherein the distance between the distal tip of the catheter and the distal end of the second mandrel corresponds to the functional section of the tip of the catheter.

EFFECT: invention has improved biocompatibility and, in particular, high contrast and good visibility.
