FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. The conjunctival cavity is opened: separate out inferior oblique muscle, stretch the muscle between two strabismus hooks, make edge notches of the selected muscle to the required width with the following loop suturing of conjunctiva. At the same time, at first stage, when tenon shell is elevated and upturned, 3-5 units of Botox are injected into the inferior oblique muscle to a depth of 1.5-2.0 mm. Then the muscle has to be separated and stretched between two strabismus hooks, muscle clamp is applied. Next, using an electrocoagulator, perpendicular to the course of the muscle fibers, marginal incisions are made 1/2 of the width of the muscle. In this case, the incisions are made on different sides of the clamp at a distance of 2-5 mm in the opposite direction so that the muscle has a Z-shaped appearance. In a particular case, the opening of the conjunctival cavity is performed in the lower-outer quadrant for 7-8 hours in 10-12 mm from the limb.
EFFECT: method allows increasing surgery efficiency and reduce risk of adverse sequelae, as well as expanding the method functionality.
