FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for cooling hot-briquetted iron. The cooling device comprises a cylindrical rotating housing tilted so that the outlet section through which the cooled hot-briquetted iron is discharged is facing upwards, and containing a liquid level control plate made under the hot-briquetted iron loading area and designed to hold a pre-selected coolant, a blade made along the inner circumferential surface of the rotating housing and designed to move the hot-briquetted iron injected into it in the direction of the outlet section, and a coolant spray module containing several spray nozzles that regulate the amount of coolant sprayed inwards from the outlet section in various ways.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to cool hot-briquetted iron as efficiently as possible and thereby minimize the consumption of coolant.
