FIELD: beverage making.

SUBSTANCE: capsule contains substance for making a beverage by extracting it, when pressurized water is supplied to the capsule in a beverage making device. The capsule includes an aluminum case, which is equipped with a lower part, a sidewall and a protruding edge. A lid is attached to the protruding edge, which closes the capsule. The capsule includes a sealing element on the protruding edge to ensure water-impermeable contact with an enclosing element of the beverage making device, when the capsule is located in the enclosing element of the beverage making device, and the enclosing element is closed with a closing element of the beverage making device, such as an extraction plate of the device, thus, that the protruding edge of the capsule and at least part of the sealing element of the capsule are hermetically engaged with the enclosing element and the closing element of the device. The enclosing element of the beverage making device includes an annular element having an axis of the annular element with a free contact end. The sealing element includes an annular layer of polymer material, which is located on the protruding edge. When used after closing the enclosing element, the sealing element is compressed by means of the free contact end of the annular element, which moves in the direction of the closing element. The protruding edge includes an annular outer wall and an annular recess between the annular outer wall and the sidewall. The annular recess includes an annular lower wall, an inward-protruding wall and an outward-protruding wall. Both protruding walls extend towards the lower part of the capsule case. The annular layer of polymer material is contained in the annular recess and is absent on the annular outer wall.
