FIELD: ceramics production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems, structures, devices and methods for manufacturing composites with a ceramic matrix suitable for use in a nuclear reactor environment and in other applications that require materials that can withstand high temperatures and/or intense exposure of corrosive environments. A method for connecting and sealing ceramic parts is proposed. The method includes forming a joint between a ceramic part and an end cap using sealing material that includes pre-ceramic polymer so that solid ceramic material formed from sealing material has the same ceramic polymorphic modification as the ceramic part and the end cap. The end cap has a channel that passes through the upper surface and the lower surface. The ceramic part is filled with a given gas composition through the channel. Material is heated to a molten state using a heat source. Material is directed into the channel, wherein material is hardened, sealing the end cap.
EFFECT: invention allows withstanding high temperatures and/or intense exposure of corrosive environments.
