SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sliding element, in particular to piston ring with coating of diamond-like carbon on the substrate. Sliding element has a softer material compared to diamond-like carbon, which is included into the surface of diamond-like carbon coating of the sliding element which shall be in contact with the part connected to it, by which the sliding element shall slide.
EFFECT: invention reduces friction coefficient and provides high wear resistance of the device.
