FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a mixture containing a trans-isomeric compound of the Formula (I) given below or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt:

The method includes hydrogenation of a compound of the Formula (II) given below or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt:
(II),
in the presence of a palladium catalyst in an inert solvent medium to obtain a mixture containing the trans-isomeric compound of the formula (I) having a ratio of trans:cys forms of at least 70:30 or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, where R1 in Formulas (I) and (II) is methyl, and where the inert solvent is H2O, C1-C10 complex ester, C1-C10 alcohol or organic acid, or a combination thereof.
EFFECT: invention allows for obtaining trans-isomeric piperidines with high yield and high stereoselectivity.
