FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: area of application: invention relates to the field of hydroacoustics and can be used in object classification problems during development of hydroacoustic systems. Substance: the value of frequency change associated with speed switching (change in the number of revolutions of the propulsor) is determined on the trajectory of the torpedo. In order to assess the type of the trajectory of movement (rectilinear, maneuvering), the amplitude of fluctuation in the bearing (B) is estimated by the dispersion of B and the decision is made according to the F-test.
EFFECT: determined parameters accounting for the dynamics of movement of the detected object, i.e. the classification of the detected target according to the "spectral-time portrait", increasing the probability of correct classification of the torpedo class target, therefore, increasing the result of solving the problem of combat sustainability of the ship.
