FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: area of application: invention relates to the field of hydroacoustics and can be used in solving problems of determining the class of an object while developing hydroacoustic systems with a towed sonar array (TSA). Substance: proposed to realise the technical result is the creation of a database of DC spectral portraits of the self-generated interference of the carrier ship with a TSA in the frequency range of the amplitude envelope of the carrier noise, for the purpose whereof, prior to starting the operation of the carrier ship, the self-generated interference of the carrier ship with the TSA is measured in full-scale conditions, in the absence of marine objects in the water area, in said frequency range depending on the speed of the carrier, direction to the object, sea waves, depth of submersion, type of hydrology, and tactical objective; and then the spectrum of the self-generated interference at the speed of the carrier and in the corresponding direction, said spectrum taken from the bank of spectral portraits of the carrier for the corresponding hydrology, sea waves, and tactical objective, is subtracted from the spectrum of the signal of the object.
EFFECT: accurate determination of spectral classification attributes of signals in the frequency range of the amplitude envelope of noise emission of the object when the TSA is towed by a carrier ship, depending on the speed of the carrier, direction to the object, sea waves, depth of submersion, type of hydrology, and tactical objective.
