FIELD: feeding-stuffs.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of feeds for pets. Proposed is a flavouring composition for modulating the kokumi taste in feed products for pets, containing a number of compounds. Also proposed are variants of feed products containing the described flavouring composition. The proposed method for enhancing the intensity of the kokumi taste in a feed product includes mixing the feed product with the described flavouring composition present in an amount effective for enhancing the kokumi taste in the feed product, determined by a taste panel. Also proposed is a method for modulating the activity of a calcium-sensitive receptor (CaSR), including contacting CaSR with the described flavouring composition.
EFFECT: invention provides a flavouring substance with an unexpected taste, evoking a sensory perception of kokumi by increasing the activity of a calcium-sensitive receptor.
