SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an electrical switching device with at least one contact point, an arc suppressing apparatus associated with said contact point, and an arc blowing device for generating a blowing magnetic field. The described arc suppressing apparatus is comprised of multiple suppressing elements located, distributed and spaced from each other in a first direction wherein each of the elements contains a permanent magnet. The arc generated at the opening of the contact point is blown from the identified contact point in the direction of the suppressing elements impacted by the blowing magnetic field. Said blowing magnetic field is at least partially generated and supported by permanent magnets of the suppressing elements. According to the present invention, the permanent magnets of the suppressing elements are displaced relative to each other in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.
EFFECT: provided is compactness of the switching apparatus.
