FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a biological material for emergency hemostasis. Proposed is a superabsorbent polymer hydrogel xerogel sponge constituting a porous sponge with a three-dimensional mesh with chitosan as the skeleton thereof, a superabsorbent polymer as the branched chain thereof and a macromolecule or polymer with a flexible structure as the crosslinking agent thereof. Also proposed is a method for producing and an application of the sponge.
EFFECT: proposed sponge has a porous structure exhibiting the superabsorbent characteristic and retains the integrity and a certain mechanical strength after absorption of water, has an excellent hemostatic effect, good safety, does not emit heat or leave residue; the sponge can be applied in emergency hemostasis of major arteriovenous bleeding; the single-reactor method for producing the proposed sponge is convenient for large-scale production.
