FIELD: pipe making.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for pipe making. A bimodal polyethylene composition includes a homopolymer polyethylene fraction with low molecular weight and a copolymer polyethylene fraction with high molecular weight. The copolymer polyethylene fraction contains from 0.5 to 1 mol.% of α-olefin C4-C10-comonomer relatively to the total number of monomers. The bimodal polyethylene composition has a soluble fraction according to an analytical method for elution fractionation at a temperature increase in 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene with 300 million-1 of butylated hydroxytoluene at a temperature of 150°C from 3 to 5.9 wt.%. a pipe containing the specified bimodal polyethylene composition is also proposed.
EFFECT: improvement of pressure resistance and resistance to low growth of pipe cracks.
