FIELD: layered products.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed are absorbent cores with a layered structure and methods for manufacture thereof. In one variant of implementation, the absorbent element may comprise an upper layer containing a liquid-permeable web material, a lower layer containing a web material, and a strengthening layer located between the upper layer and the lower layer. The absorbent element may additionally comprise a first absorbent layer located between the strengthening layer and the lower layer, wherein the first absorbent layer comprises an absorbent material containing substantially only a super-absorbent material, and a second absorbent layer located between the upper layer and the strengthening layer, wherein the second absorbent layer comprises an absorbent material containing an absorbent material. The element may also comprise an adhesive located between the upper layer and the second absorbent layer, between the second absorbent layer and the strengthening layer, and between the first absorbent layer and the lower layer.
